Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Shama platform ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy. If you are using Shama on behalf of a church, ministry, or organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not access or use the Service.
Description of Service
Shama is an AI-powered platform designed to help church administrators and ministry staff manage sermons, members, communications, and scheduling. Features vary by subscription plan. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature with reasonable notice to subscribers.
Accounts & Responsibilities
You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access. Accounts may not be shared between organizations or transferred without prior written consent.
Subscriptions & Billing
Paid subscriptions are billed on the cycle (monthly or annual) selected at checkout, processed via Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled before the renewal date. Annual plans are non-refundable after 14 days from initial purchase. Monthly plans may be canceled at any time; access continues through the end of the current billing period. We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice to active subscribers.
Free Trials & Promotions
Where offered, free trials provide full or limited access to the Service for a specified period. A valid payment method may be required to start a trial. Unless canceled before trial expiration, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid plan. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue trial offers at any time.
Acceptable Use
You agree to use Shama only for lawful ministry and church administration purposes. You may not: use the Service to harass, defraud, or harm others; attempt to reverse-engineer or extract the underlying AI models or code; upload malicious software or content; violate applicable privacy laws when managing member data; or resell access to the Service without written authorization.
Your Content & Data
You retain ownership of all ministry data, member records, sermon content, and other materials you upload to Shama ("Your Content"). By using the Service, you grant Shama a limited license to store, process, and display Your Content solely to operate and improve the platform. We do not use Your Content to train AI models without explicit consent. You are responsible for ensuring you have appropriate rights and permissions for any content you upload.
AI-Generated Content
Shama uses AI to assist with drafting sermons, emails, and other ministry content. AI-generated suggestions are provided as a starting point and may contain errors or omissions. You are solely responsible for reviewing, editing, and approving any AI-generated content before use. Shama does not guarantee the theological accuracy, completeness, or suitability of AI-generated material for your ministry context.
Intellectual Property
The Shama platform, including its software, design, branding, and AI models, is owned by Shama and protected by intellectual property law. These Terms do not grant you any rights to the Shama name, logo, or platform beyond what is necessary to use the Service as described. Feedback or suggestions you provide may be used to improve the platform without compensation or attribution.
Privacy & Data Security
Use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data. However, no system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your own account credentials and devices.
Suspension & Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service immediately if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or fail to pay amounts owed. You may terminate your account at any time by canceling your subscription. Upon termination, your right to access the Service ends. We will retain your data for 90 days after cancellation to allow for export or reactivation, after which it will be deleted.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses. Your use of the Service is at your own risk.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Shama and its officers, employees, and agents will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from or related to these Terms or the Service will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Tarrant County, Texas, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify active subscribers of material changes by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. The current version will always be available at aishama.com/terms.
